Boston Qualifier...Check IronMan....Check... Proving Age is just a number...Priceless
Sep 3, 2010

Pat Ward's story is one of pure inspiration, and with leading into marathon season is the perfect time to tell his tale. We first met Pat when he was in a full leg cast at our first location in the Hansons Running Store in Utica, MI. It was weeks after the Detroit FreePress Marathon where he broke his leg in the later stages of the race. This of course was when the race finished in Ford Field and you had to walk up all those stairs to leave. Now where most people would throw out there running shoes Pat came into the office with pure determination to qualify for Boston. Now of course when someone comes into the office with a full leg cast the last thing you think about is a Boston qualifier. But after the leg healed, a few marathons, speed workouts, more mileage, and being healthy Pat did hit that wonderful qualifying mark of 3:35 and headed to Boston last April. For most people this would of been enough but for Pat he was already planning his next goal...The Ironman. Pat recently finished the Louisville Ironman. To read more about this click here . Pat has shown our group that anything is possible as long as you put your mind to it!
